  • Suicide or Murder?

My son, Joshua, 19, was found dead in Amsler Park, McGregor, Tx, on February 16, 2006.

Needless to say, the nightmare that followed, is what led me to believe that there was more to Josh’s death, than what was being hidden from me!

I discovered, by accident, via a conversation with Kathy Amecuzca/Southwestern Inst of Forensic Science, Dallas, that Joshua was last seen alive by a McGregor cop at 1AM in Amsler Park. The park had a 10PM curfew. Was Joshua asked to vacate? Was there an altercation? (We lived 1 block away.) If he was asked to vacate, why would he return and be found dead, in the park, at 5:15AM? That, according to the person that told me, personally, that he called 911 @ 5:15AM. He also told me that he gave a statement to McGregor police, but no report was produced via an FOIA! (I sent an FOIA to McGregor PD, requesting to hear the 911 call, I was told it had been erased.)

5:15AM~Mr. Barry Thornton, Sr calls 911 to report a body in Amsler Park.

5:35AM~McGregor dispatches officer(s) to Amsler Park for ‘Possible Suicide’.

5:36AM~Officer(s) arrive on scene.

Why did it take 20 minutes for McGregor to dispatch?

Per the officers’ statements, the deceased is not recognized, becoming the ‘Unknown Subject’.

5:44AM~A wants & warrants check is ran on the ‘Unknown Subject’. (Joshua had no ID on him.). Why would they run a Wants & Warrants check on a dead person and more importantly, how?

At around 6:30, a friend of my sons, calls our house and tells my son, Michael, that someone was hanging in the park. Justin lives on the perimeter of Amsler Park.

Michael comes to tell me, and although I knew, in my heart that it was Joshua, I sent Michael to the park to see what’s going on. He left and I’m losing my mind, crawling around my yard….until an officer walks up to me. I say, “Please don’t tell me what you’re going to tell me!”  He said, “I’m sorry.”

In my head, it felt like an earthquake. Joshua’s life instantly ran in my mind…

I do have the document, via an FOIA, that Joshua was seen and recognized in the dark, unlit park. All 8 McGregor officers knew my 2 sons, especially Joshua. They knew each other on a first name basis. Joshua drove a 1984 Cadillac Deville, and was stopped (harrassed) frequently. He and his friends told me that the police would always cuff him before subjecting him to…What?

I still don’t know which officer saw Joshua at 1AM, as McGregor PD never would tell me.

The first few days were a blur. Former detective, Kory Martin, questioned me, asking the time Joshua left our house, and I told him at 10:49PM. (Per his report, be wrote 12:00, why?)

After receiving the news that Joshua had been seen in Amsler Park @ 1AM, I immediately called McGregor PD, asking Det Martin about Joshua being seen, and he said he had no idea of what I was talking about. (How could he not know?)

On Feb 22, I called Interim Chief, Chris Molina, asking him about the time and how he died. (I had envisioned him climbing and hanging). I asked about footprints in the gravel below the swingset, and he said that there were none. Out of the blue, Molina says, “There was no one in the park at ten after one.” (I didn’t snap to those words until I realized that he was not on duty nor was there a ‘Park Check’ @ 1:10AM)

I began sending FOIA’s to McGregor PD, requesting Any and All documents pertaining to the death of Joshua Robinson. I rec’d the statements of former Det Kory Martin and former Sgt, Jeff Freeman. I requested the statements of the on duty officers, Officer Walter Kirby and K-9 Officer, Jared Norris. I didn’t receive their statements until April 26, 2006 and albeit a few transposed words, their statements were identical! Police protocol is for the on duty officers write their statement first.

I also had to send an FOIA to McGregor PD for the Crime Scene Photos, which I rec’d on May 6, and was told by the city secretary, to not look at them. I told her that I had no choice, as McGregor PD refused to speak with me after talking to Interim Chief, Molina.

In June, 2006, four of the five on scene officers resigned, simultaneously.

McGregor gets a new chief in June. Chief Ronald Wadkins is now head of McGregor PD. I sat down the second day in his office, explaining why I didn’t believe that my son had killed himself. He told me to wait on the Autopsy Report and go from there.

Around October, I called Chief Wadkins, telling him that I was in fear because I believed a murderer was on the loose. He said, “I SUGGEST that you relocate.” I told him No, it’s your job to serve & protect me. He reiterated and I took his subtle threat seriously and moved to Temple, Tx (Bell County).

At the same time, I spent most of my time, in Temple, taking care of my terminally ill sister.

I spoke with Dr Quinton Reade, Medical Examiner with SWIFS. I asked him how he cane to the conclusion of Suicide. He told me that he had initially ruled Undetermined, until receiving a report from Det Martin, causing him to change the ruling. (What report?)

Det Martin’s Report:

‘Joshua and mother fought the previous night.’ (Normal for us)

‘Reportedly, Joshua was a drug user.’ (Reportedly from whom? No drugs/alcohol in his system)

‘App suicide by chain vs neck.’ (NOTHING is apparent in a proper investigation. All deaths are to be investigated as a homicide until proven otherwise)

I request a Death Inquest from former Justice of the Peace, Frank Culpepper. He attempts to tell me he has done that, that he sent Joshua for an autopsy. I try to correct him, explaining the difference between an Autopsy and a Death Inquest…He tells me to get out of his damn office! (See: Texas Code of Criminal Procedures, Art. 49.03).

I have requested a Death Inquest, numerous times, through two subsequent JP’s and have been denied, repeatedly.

I contacted my local and state representatives, only to be told that they don’t get involved in ‘Legal Matters’….(Isn’t that their job?)

I contacted the Dept of Justice, only to be told No.

While in Temple, unable to leave my dying sister alone, I contact Temple Police, wanting a homicide detective to review Joshua’s file. Det Steve Mosley agrees to come to my sister’s house and he spends a couple hours going over the documents from Joshua’s file and listening to me. He asks if he can take a few pages with him and I allow that. Two weeks later, he calls me, telling me that I need to contact the FBI because Joshua’s death is NOT a Suicide!

I go to the Waco FBI Field Office and speak with an agent. I receive a letter, informing me that there’s not enough evidence to open the case.

I contact the Texas Rangers, speaking with then Ranger, Stephen Foster. He denies my request, not once, but twice!

Foster becomes Chief of Police in McGregor 2 years after Josjua’s death. Coincidence? (I don’t think so.) Currently, Foster is allegedly under investigation by the Attorney General, for Misuse of Office Funds and Hidden Evidence.

Det Steve Mosley is now with Waco PD. I called him and he still states that Joshua’s death is NOT a suicide, but will not write it on paper.

In March, 2013, I move back into McLennan County/Moody. In less than 3 months, McGregor Task Force executes a Search Warrant at my house. I’m not there, as I had  Dr’s appt. I find papers in my door when I return home, grab them, walk into my house, sat down to read the papers. I see ‘Search Warrant’ and begin looking around. Nothing seemed disturbed..until I look at MY bedroom and it is TORE UP!! The warrant states that they were looking for drugs, so why do they only search MY bedroom??? No drugs were found.

I called Det Coy, asking him what he told the Justice of the Peace to get a warrant and ask him what he was looking for?? He told that it was none of my business.

Currently, I am fighting Stage 4 Metastatic Pancreatic Cancer and I need to focus on getting better. I would like closure before cancer kills me.

My Faith tells me that those that murdered Joshua will have to answer to God.

Waco, Texas – Law enforcement sources in Texas have indicated that nine bikers killed in Waco at the Twin Peaks Restaurant parking lot on May 17 was as a result from gunfire by Waco police, according to forensic and video evidence withheld by the corrupt McLennan County D.A.’s Office, including Abel Reyna, the McLennan District Attorney himself and Waco police. All forensic and video evidence from the Twin Peaks biker massacre has been withheld and the release of video could result in criminal charges against Waco police officers and a Waco police detective that fabricated similar criminal charges against 170 bikers and several women to cover-up the biker massacre.
